Richmond BC Play & StayFood, Steveston and the flat city next to YVR

Questions we get asked

Short answers to the things people ask before they get in touch.

Is Richmond just the airport?

Far from it. It's one of the best food cities in the country for its size, Steveston is a proper working fishing village, and it's all flat and easy to get around. The airport's just the bit people see.

Where should I eat?

Honestly, too much to list — Richmond's Asian food scene is the real draw. Ask about a specific craving and we'll point you somewhere good rather than somewhere that paid to be listed.

Is the night market worth it?

Seasonal, busy and a lot of fun if you go for the food and the atmosphere rather than the shopping. Go hungry, go early, and don't drive — parking is its own event.

How do I get around without a car?

The SkyTrain connects Richmond to Vancouver and the airport, and the city's flat enough to cycle. For Steveston and the dyke trails, a bike is the nicest way to do it.

Who's behind this guide?
